Well it poured rain all weekend long, and that is so great for a stitch finishing weekend. I got out my sewing machine and proceeded to work on eleven ornies I had finished stitching but had not finished finishing ..... lol. Saturday afternoon I matched them to fabric, sewed them together, turned them out and trimmed them up ... and that is as far as I got, who would have thunk it would take so long just to do that. I am going to try and stitch every night this week to get a few completed.
I also picked out another dozen I will turn into cards now that my card supply is s zero. I drove into town to http://www.thescrapbucket.ca/ scrapbook shop and picked up supplies for card making. I bought a great bag of Bitty Floral Embellishments (love love love them) and lots of colored paper. I did an entire section out of a World of Cross Stitch magazine that is all Blackwork and will make wonderful cards.
Speaking of magazines but did you hear about The GIFT of STITCHING is going to cease publishing. That is so sad, I really enjoy GOS and have stitched many of the ornies.
The new blog colors PINK and embellishments are from http://sasdesigns.blogspot.ca/, It is a free kit!
Have a great week and keep stitching.

Progress Report Pileated Woodpecker
I am 2/3s complete on Sue Coleman's Pileated Woodpecker, that is 4 out of 6 pages completed. I have started the top right and am leaving the top left (the head) for last as I know it will be so exciting getting to that point and not wanting to stop stitching just to see how the head turns out.

Catching Up
Wow, it has been 5 weeks since I last posted, it seems like a life time ago and so much has happened! Someone tried to hack my gmail account, my blog, my paypal account, my ebay account and my facebook account. The hackers did not get in, but all of my accounts where locked, what a pain it is to go to every site where you have an id and/or account and change them all. Well its is done and super encrypted too!
International Digital Scrapbook Day came and went and I bought way to much ........ again. So you will be seeing all kinds of new frames and embellishments on my blog. And I am thinking of redoing her in PINK!
I am sure you have noticed I do like to decorate everything with embellishments.
For anyone interested here are a couple of sites I go to, to get FREE digital scrap book downloads.
http://qualitydigiscrapfreebies.blogspot.ca/
http://suzee-q-stuff.blogspot.ca/
I have also been doing lots of work in the yard, I live on the lake so it is almost impossible to go in the house when it is so nice outside. With the arrivals of all of the new birds and the blooming of the spring flowers comes that feeling of reawakening and joy.
For Mothers Day my son got me a rockin new putter for golfing, now I can't wait for the ladies Monday night golf league to start. I have also been walking an hour every day, trying to get rid of some of the winter weight I put on, (and there is a bit of it ........... lol)
I have made progress on my purple hardanger pattern, I actually finished it and have also completed one in oranges. I will stuff them and finish them off this weekend and post them early next week.
Ok enough rambling and catching up!
PS: if you are in the area

Mothers Day
Mothers Day came and went and I have now given out the last card in my stash to my Mother In Law. I need to start work on a few new ones and very soon. I found the most wonderful Iris stickers I would like to use, all I need to do is find small iris patterns in my old magazines.

Not a Stitch was Had!
Well not a single stitch was done all weekend long, not Friday, not Saturday and not Sunday, oh my! I am feeling a little bit of withdrawal. But on a bright note I was outside and did a lot of walking and birdwatching. My brother in law is an avid bird watcher and he always inspired me to watch, look and listen for birds. So this weekend I did. Every day new birds are arriving from their winter vacations home to Grand Beach for the summer. This weekend I saw for the very first time ever a KINGFISHER. I am feeling like the luckiest girl ever. I also saw COMMON FLICKER, RED HEADED WOODPECKER and a PILEATED WOODPECKER. There where also more ducks that you could possibly see, there where hundreds!
Here is the site I got the pic from (just so no one gets into trouble, give credit where credit is due) http://www.chesco.org/ccparks/cwp/view.asp?a=1554&q=631592
So next weekend when I go walking, yes I will bring my camera with me .............. what is that old adage, never leave home without it! or is that a credit card, oh well, anyway, never leave home without your camera, you just never know what you will see out there!
Happy Monday ...................

Easter is over but I am still in the mood for purple .......... so I am doing up a little Lorri Birmingham hardanger pattern, this is what I have pulled to use, I don't know if I will use it all but lets see what happens.
